Get ready for the Justice League to instigate a big pile of movie crossovers, folks, because Henry Cavill just started up the rumor that Superman could appear in the Wonder Woman movie. When asked by Superinteressante, Henry Cavill gave a firm maybe: “I haven’t heard anything yet, but…watch that space.” He did confirm definitively that his Superman won’t appear in Suicide Squad — although we do know Batfleck will be in that.

Speaking of Ben Affleck’s Batman, we also already knew that he’s rumored to show up in the Wonder Woman movie. The appearance of Superman and Batman in Wonder Woman makes sense in theory, since Wonder Woman will kick off the process of hyping the soon-to-follow Justice League movie(s). But the inclusion of Batman and Superman in Gal Gadot’s solo fixture may well depend on how audiences react to their performances in Batman v Superman.

Given that Justice League has already started production, DC sure does seem to be taking some big financial risks on this brand new collection of heroes … none of whom we’ve seen in action yet. Even if we all hate the trio’s chemistry, it seems likely that Wonder Woman will put in some Justice League hype regardless — perhaps in a Marvel Studios-style post-credits scene. DC’s got to catch up to Avengers somehow, right?
