Well, it seems like someone at Target.com was listening!

Yesterday, we reported that Target.com had a Captain Phasma costume that was not really a Captain Phasma costume and was advertised as a “boys'” costume. Well lookee! They’ve learned the error of their ways (and maybe a little something about Star Wars?)!

I also want to applaud them for the names of some of their other Star Wars costumes. While some of the male characters are labeled “Boys'” costumes, a good number of them—like Yoda, Stormtrooper, and Chewbacca—are labeled “Child costume,” which I think is wonderful, and I hope that they embrace throughout all of their costuming and toy lines the way they made their in-store toy aisles gender neutral.  Because kids should be allowed to pretend to be whoever they want to be without anyone telling them that their toy or costume is actually for someone else.

Good job, Target!
