And you’ll probably never guess which network it’s going to wind up on…
Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns, just tweeted a link to a Wall Street Journal article revealing plans for a Teen Titans television show. The project is said to be close to a deal with TNT.
The Teen Titans have had a huge roster throughout the years so they’ve got a lot of characters to choose from. But if Johns’ tweet and the article are any indication, it looks like Batman’s protege Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing is definitely aboard for the ride.
“The television series would more closely resemble a popular 1980s comic called ‘New Titans.’ It featured a 20-something version of Robin who changed his moniker to Nightwing, as well as the new heroes Starfire, Raven and Cyborg,” writes WSJ.
The article also notes Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes would be writing the pilot. Goldman had been working on the adaptation of The Dark Tower (which has been stuck in development for years) but was also previously attached to a Teen Titans film project. He’s also written Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, A Beautiful Mind, and is currently working on the sequel to Divergent, Insurgent.
Just last week we told you Warner Bros. was working on bringing Supergirl to television, what are your thoughts on a Teen Titans show? Or simply Titans, as the article refers to the yet-to-be show.
