We’re still reeling from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con as we catch up on all the news coming out of The Greatest Show on Earth (screw Ringling Bros.). Fans of The CW’s The Flash were treated to a panel in Hall H this year, where the cast and crew talked about Season One and teased what’s coming up for Season Two. For starters, check out the highlight video they showed above, which teases new story elements at the very end.

There’s some cool new casting news! Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex) will be joining the cast in Season Two as Jay Garrick! That’s right, the first person to ever take on the mantle of The Flash will exist in the live-action DC universe for the first time. However, he won’t be The Flash at all. As reported by Deadline Hollywood, here’s what Flash Executive Producer, Andrew Kreisberg, has to say about the character:

Jay Garrick has never been portrayed in live action. Now that we established our Flash, we thought it would be great to bring in the original Flash to create a brand new relationship with Barry.

Garrick will be a mysterious figure who shows up in Central City to warn Barry of an oncoming danger. Oooooh… cryptic. Meanwhile, Shantel VanSanten (One Tree Hill) will be joining The Flash as Central City cop, Patty Spivot, a recent addition to Flash comics, and someone who will complicate Barry’s love life significantly when she partners with Joe. Deadline Hollywood also reports other cool new story elements for Season Two of The Flash:

Also revealed tonight by the panel: Wally West, the first Kid Flash and the third Flash will be making his debut. Also, Barry will be battling Zoom, who is faster than The Flash. “We’re really excited about Zoom,” said Kreisberg.

Greg Berlanti, EP for the show said, season two will “pick up a few months later. We deal with the fallout of the cataclysm that happened at the end of the year. As we used the particle accelerator to introduce the metahuman, we’ll be introducing characters from Earth 2 on the show.”

We’re excited to get The Flash Mob back together! Season Two of The Flash premieres October 6th on The CW!
