Today, Disney released a music-only version of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer; the version above is edited by Tim Gonzales in order to close the spaces left by the dialogue removal. The results sound astounding, beautiful, and poignant as all get out. As in, get out of here, because I have something in my eye over this Star Wars music.

Slashfilm speculates that the music in the trailer was probably composed by a variety of people; the trailer features sections of the well-known John Williams score, but it also includes other melodic elements that might have been added by professional composers who work specifically with trailers. Yes, that’s a job—and it’s a difficult and important one, as we can now hear clearly!

Anyway, massive props are in order for whoever did work on composing and arranging this music, because … well, damn. So many feelings right now.
