Various Internet campaigns for the #NextBond have continued on in the wake of Daniel Craig’s apparent departure from the franchise–Gillian Anderson and Idris Elba have been particularly noted favorites, while Priyanka Chopra was recently quoted as saying she’d rather play 007 himself than a Bond girl.

At this point, it would appear as if some fans are more than ready for the mantle of James Bond to be taken up by someone other than a white dude–but in terms of talks happening behind closed doors, one name is being offered up: Tom Hiddleston.

BirthMoviesDeath.com is reporting that Hiddleston is in “exclusive talks” to be the next Bond, and while they add that they don’t mind the occasional bit of speculation–this information is coming from a close source.

While discussions are still going on (no one else was in the room where it happened), there’s been no official offer yet–but apparently, Hiddleston is very much interested in the role. I have absolutely no idea what a HiddlesBond would look like, but I’m intrigued more than anything else.
