BBC One’s The White Queen will be premiering on Starz on August 10th and, excitingly, appears to have a good number of interesting female characters, and a healthy dose of political intrigue.
On the Starz Website, the show is described as:
a riveting portrayal of one of the most dramatic and turbulent times in English history. A story of love and lust, seduction and deception, betrayal and murder, it is uniquely told through the perspective of three different, yet equally relentless women – Elizabeth Woodville, Margaret Beaufort and Anne Neville. In their quest for power, they will scheme, manipulate and seduce their way onto the English throne.”
I’ve clearly been watching too much Game of Thrones, since I read “deception” as “decapitation,” but with my weekly dose of political intrigue, battles, and awesome ladies having wrapped up its 3rd season, I’m excited to watch some real historical drama unfold, especially from the perspectives of these three fascinating women.
