Hayao Miyazaki‘s The Wind Rises has been described as a more grown up Studio Ghibli tale, focusing on Jiro Horikoshi, an airplane designer in the first half of the 20th century. Those of us unfortunate enough to not understand Japanese, however, have had to wait to see the full impact of the predictably gorgeous footage from the new film, until now. The Wind Rises will be shown at the Venice Film Festival, and soon after at the Toronto International Film Festival, prompting the release of this english-subtitled version of the trailer to give us a good idea of what we’re looking forward to.
