This time last week, I, Jessica Lachenal, was schlubbing around the PAX East expo floor all dewy-eyed and idealistic. You can check out that panel above, which featured Ashley Barry, Tanya DePass, Jillian Gorry, and, yeah, me.

  • io9’s Charlie Jane Anders recently shared an essay that reinforces io9’s belief that science fiction belongs to everyone. It’s a piece you should definitely read, especially if recent issues have you doubting why you love what you love.
  • The Entertainment Software Association has shared its survey findings looking into the demographics of gamers. Interesting tidbit: the average guy who plays games is 35. The average woman? 44. Check out the full findings over on the ESA website. (via Polygon)

Have a great weekend, you lovelies. <3

Jessica Lachenal is a writer who doesn’t talk about herself a lot, so she isn’t quite sure how biographical info panels should work. But here we go anyway. She's the Weekend Editor for The Mary Sue, a Contributing Writer for The Bold Italic (thebolditalic.com), and a Staff Writer for Spinning Platters (spinningplatters.com). She's also been featured in Model View Culture and Frontiers LA magazine, and on Autostraddle. She hopes this has been as awkward for you as it has been for her.
