NYCC has brought us lots of cool news, and the latest is this trailer for John Wick 2. Keanu Reeves’ action-packed revenge thriller John Wick became a resounding success back in 2014, not because it did anything new per se, but simply because it excelled at being exactly the type of popcorn-accompanying B-movie you’d want it to be. (It also served as the inspiration for Keanu, that Key & Peele parody with the kitten.) Common will be in the sequel as the “newest hitman,” as you can see in this trailer. EW reports that at the NYCC panel to promote the film, Common said: “It’s an assassin’s love story.” He implied that the “love story” unfolds between Reeves’ character and his own, which is probably just a joke……. unless it isn’t?????

  • This week, the internet has gotten some small glimpses of Wolverine 3, now officially titled Logan. Today, we’ve got another image, which shows why the movie will be rated R: it’s a pic of a severed hand holding a shotgun. Yikes!
  • Finished watching Luke Cage yet? Great, then you can read Simone Missick’s comments about Misty Knight’s possible bionic arm.
  • We love all these Supergirl/Arrow crossovers–but don’t worry, none of that is a sign that Supergirl will be losing her show and getting absorbed into some other DC show. Producer Andrew Kreisberg assured EW that Supergirl’s new home on the CW is safe. Plus, he shared some other deets about the upcoming season.
  • Can’t get enough NYCC updates? Neither can we! Our intrepid team of NYCC-attending staffers—Keisha, Charline, and Sam—have been putting together tons of videos for you, both via Facebook Live (go “Like” our page for the latest) and also in the form of longer highlight reels here on the site, all edited by our video producer Alec. Reward their hard work by checking out these three highlight reels, won’t you? First up, here’s our video of the pre-show shenanigans on Thursday night, including interviews on the Heroes After Dark red carpet:

Next up, here’s the video recap of Friday’s adventures. Keisha got to interview the Hasbro Toys team about why they didn’t make enough Rey toys for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and how they plan to handle representation in Rogue One‘s toy line.

Lastly, here’s today’s NYCC video, featuring Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Clark Gregg telling us who he thinks should pick up the mantle of Captain America, plus chats with the creative team behind Venture Bros. and the next Planet of the Apes!

That about wraps it up for us here at TMS. What’d you see out there today?
