Things We Saw Today: Rogue One Runs Away With $400 Million in U.S. Box Office

The rebellion lives on, as Rogue One continues to dominate at the cinema. It passed $400 million at the domestic box office this weekend, making it the second best showing of 2016 after Finding Dory. With the combined successes of Dory, Rogue One, Captain America: Civil War, and its other releases, Disney took home more than a quarter of the U.S. movie market share this year. So it looks like that rebellion might actually be funding an empire. (via The Hollywood Reporter)

• Sesame Street Fighter, a mashup video game of Street Fighter and Sesame Street, is the ‘”educational” button mashing game you didn’t know you needed. This is a real online game, in which you can play as hulked-out amalgams of Sesame Street and Street Fighter characters–but you have to spell a word any time you want to throw a punch. (via Nerdist)
• Hot Toys has shared an image of its upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy figures, and yes, Gamora is actually included.
• Have you taken advantage of Pokemon GO’s second holiday update yet? Now through January 8, lure modules will run for 60 minutes instead of 30, and Bulbasaurs, Squirtles, Charmanders and their evolved forms will appear more frequently in the game. (via GameSpot and CinemaBlend)
