Thomas is a tank engine who lives at the big station on the Island of Sodor. He’s a cheeky little engine with six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler, and a short stumpy dome. In Pastaspace‘s mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, he’s also the bane of Kings, ancient shadow unbound, with a hunger to swallow the world.
The “Really Useful Dragons,” mod, as it’s known, replaces all the dragons in Skyrim with dead-eyed Thomas the Tank Engine characters. The above video depicts Thomas himself as the World Eater, but Gordon, James, Henry, and a bunch of other trains make it into the mod as well, complete with appropriately haunting whistles and toots. “This doesn’t count voices though,” the mod creator admits on the Steam community download page. “I’m not willing to rip Ringo Starr’s voice just yet.”
And, of course, because the Internet loves you, Lunarlander on Reddit has made a GIF of the original video to haunt your dreams:
(via Game Informer and Reddit)
- The actual Skyrim DLC’s got nothing on this
- Bethesda should add Thomas to the wall of Alduin
- Ringo Starr used to be the conductor, then he took an arrow to the knee
