Sick of hearing about the World Cup? How about I bring you some news about a different kind of World Cup? Namely, the Quidditch World Cup!

Quidditch is the sport of choice in the Harry Potter universe, but it’s slowly been taking the Muggle world by storm. Fans of the books have adapted the sport for our non-magical world and it’s become the fastest growing collegiate sport. Because flying isn’t actually possible, the players simply run around the pitch. To keep in line with the game from the books, though, players must have a broomstick between their legs and must always have one hand on said broomstick. I would also like to point out the fact that it’s one of the only co-ed contact sports.

The Quidditch World Cup for 2014 was held in early April in North Myrtle Beach, SC. We bring you a look at the trailer for the upcoming movie Mudbloods, which is a documentary all about the Quidditch World Cup.  You can relive the magic if you experienced it firsthand or get a look into something you may not know much about. Either way, the documentary, created by former UCLA film student Farzad Sangari, follows the UCLA quidditch team. While it isn’t from this past Cup (it’s documenting the 2011 World Cup), it still gives a fantastic look into the lives of these collegiate athletes and fellow Potter fans.

The documentary premiered at the AFI DOCS festival in June, but it will be available on demand and in limited theaters this coming October.
