Sorry, folks. We can run (to Canada) from this election, but we can’t hide—especially when Donald Trump holds a press conference to lie brazenly about his role in the disgusting movement questioning Barack Obama’s birthplace.

Thankfully, we have so many wonderful TV personalities to break it down … on comedy shows, because they’re apparently the only ones we can trust anymore—aside from CNN’s passive-aggressive breaking news banner. Above, you can see Samantha Bee dissect this story on Full Frontal (and she did a lot more on Trump that’s worth watching, too).

Seth Meyers and Steven Colbert also offered their individual takes on the simple facts of the situation, which are that Trump promoted the idea that President Obama was lying about his birthplace for years and then blamed the whole “birther” movement on Hillary Clinton, which is patently false. He also said he “ended” the movement, despite the fact that he was a big proponent of it long after many others had abandoned the always-absurd inquisition.

All of this was wrapped up in what was effectively a Trump hotel commercial. Enjoy!
