I know, I know: another day, another potentially devastating update about Twin Peaks Season 3. At least this one isn’t all bad?

According to EW, David Lynch’s recent remarks about “complications” with the upcoming third season of the cult series may have been misinterpreted:

Nothing is going on that’s any more than any preproduction process with David Lynch. Everything is moving forward and everybody is crazy thrilled and excited.

Polygon surmises that Lynch’s statements about the upcoming Showtime season (“I haven’t returned yet. And we’re still working on the contract”) may mean that the director’s future with the series is in doubt. Or, as we’ve mentioned before, maybe this is just another reminder that the guy who came up with this:

Is totally capable of still fucking with us. Hopefully that’s the case: if Twin Peaks Season 2 taught fans anything, it’s that the more direct involvement Lynch has with the series, the better.
