Atlanta star and all-around a gorgeous woman, Zazie Beetz is looking like a total badass in the Deadpool 2 teaser which highlights her character and her power, which is “luck.” For those that don’t know, Beetz’s character Domino is a mutant whose power is that she can create probability-altering telekinetic fields that give her “good luck” and her enemies “bad luck.” Domino is a long-term member of the X-Force and while white in the comics, she is being played by the biracial Beetz in the film.
According to a recent Bustle article, one of the things Beetz was praised for was keeping up with Reynolds’ “rapid-fire wit.” Unsurprising, since she works for one of the most creative shows on television right now. She apparently charmed the producers so much that they encouraged her to bring her own style to the character, which is why we get that fantastic afro and all the natural hair looks.
“For David and Ryan, my hair being bold and strong helps Domino come across as bold and strong,” Beetz said, even though she had been prepared to alter her hair for the role.
Deadpool 2 will come in our eyes May 18.
