Given the horrifying current events, we could all use some innocent fun right now. That’s where Broadway’s The Illusionists—Turn of the Century comes in. This creative show features an eclectic group of illusionists who perform mind-bending tricks while making you laugh. It’s quite an immersive experience with lots of audience participation (and some much-needed slapstick comedy).
I got to speak with a few of the stars of the show, including clairvoyants Thommy Ten and Amelie Van Tass, and conjuress Jinger Leigh, about why the Turn of the Century theme is so fitting, and how women have always been involved in magic. Plus, they were kind enough to give a demonstration, and I even got to participate. Watch me reach childlike joy in the video above.
The Illusionists—Turn of the Century is now on Broadway until January 1. For more information or to purchase tickets, head here.
