Who’s ready for New York Comic-Con? We’ll be there all weekend, bringing you tons of pictures and videos, plus a live recap on Facebook at the end of each day. Keep checking back for updates and don’t forget to follow along on Twitter and Instagram (@TheMarySue) using #TMSNYCC.

But before we hit up the official con, we had an opportunity to check out some of the pre-event festivities. First up, our friends over at Square Enix let us preview some of the great games coming out including Final Fantasy XV and Deus Ex Machina: Mankind Divided. We also got to try out a virtual reality version of Rise of the Tomb Raider, and it actually feels like you’re inside the game. Definitely worth checking out if you can!

We also previewed Hasbro’s latest toys at their ‘Twas the Night Before NYCC party. There was plenty to see, between figurines, new Furbies that dance along to your mp3 player, and a BB-8 version of the classic ‘Operation’ board game! We even walked away with some neat swag, so look out for giveaways.

At the end of the night, we attended ReedPOP and Entertainment Weekly’s Heroes After Dark red carpet celebration, which kicked off this week’s event. The cast of Class, the Doctor Who spinoff, talked about their complex female characters, and we even got some behind the scenes scoop on Ash Vs. Evil Dead.

Will we see you there? Give us a shout!
