A spooky, scary house with Sebastian Stan in a bathtub? Sign me up! The full trailer for We Have Always Lived in the Castle was released, and it has me scared! Based on the 1962 novel by Shirley Jackson, the movie takes us on a journey with the Blackwood family, surrounded by a town that hates them and being faced with the ever-looming threat of their late father. Told from the perspective of Mary Katherine Blackwood, the novel has an ominous feel that carries you through the entire story.

So how is the film going to differ? To be completely honest, I don’t think it’s going to be that different. From the trailer we got for the film, it seems as if Mary Katherine Blackwood’s story is going to be just as twisty and turny as the novel. It does help that Charles Blackwood (Sebastian Stan) is shirtless in a bathtub, though.

With new posters and a trailer, fans were getting excited about the film (which will be released VOD on May 17th and in select theaters).

And … I mean, many had their priorities in line with this trailer.

Directed by Stacie Passon, this is going to be an interesting look at the famed Jackson novel, as well as a great vehicle for stars Alexandra Daddario, Taissa Farmiga, Crispin Glover, and Sebastian Stan. Personally, I just started reading the book and found that I already dreaded what was to come for Mary Katherine and the rest of the Blackwood family within the first few pages.

An interesting story filled with terrible characters, We Have Always Lived in the Castle is definitely going to be a must-see!
