These two young girls, both wearing their Batgirl finest, founded Wear Your Superheroes Day last year, and October 1st will mark the second annual celebration of superhero-themed apparel for all genders. Adalina and Leanna are now 8 and 6 years old, and their love of Batman and countless other superheroes has not abetted since last year. The event began because Leanna’s classmates were teasing her about her clothes, saying that “superheroes are for boys” — but we all know that’s not true! This year, Leanna and Adalina’s parents told Women You Should Know that the event inspired “a lot more confidence” in Leanna. We bet other kids have benefited as well.

Participate in the event virtually via their Facebook page, and don’t forget to wear your favorite heroic outfit this Thursday!
