Over on Limpkin’s blog, Mathieu managed to make a webcam’s output display on a 96×64 bi-color LED display, generating something that looks like a Lite-Brite displaying a live feed. The webcam stream is captured using Matlab, with only 50 lines of code capturing a frame, sizing it, converting the frame to black and white for accurate edge detection, then compressing the image data and and transmitting it to the processor. The Lite-Brite style display shows images at around 42 hz.
