No, actually, this is it: Weezer‘s upcoming album Hurley opted for the obvious — and also ridiculous — choice cover. After the Green Album and Red Album, this is clearly the natural progression. The record, due in stores September 14 on Epitaph, will employ the above image of Lost actor Jorge Garcia, who is grinning to have succeeded Jacob as the New Man in Charge.

Update: Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof has stumbled upon the album cover! He tweets:

According to Pitchfork’s e-mail interview with frontman Rivers Cuomo, the motivation was simple: Everybody Loves Hugo.

“We just wanted to use that picture of Jorge Garcia’s face on the cover. It’s such an amazing album cover, and we didn’t want to have any other words on it, so we just figured everyone was going to call it Hurley, so that’s what we call it.”

No news yet as to whether tracks 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, or 42 hold hidden Easter eggs.
