In honor of popular holiday National Hamburger Month [a.k.a. “May”], White Castle is selling scented candles. And these aren’t run-of-the-mill scented candles that smell like hydrangeas, apples and cinnamon, or ‘fresh linen’ with a White Castle logo slapped on them: No, when you light them, the “steam-grilled-on-a-bed-of-onions scent of America’s first fast-food hamburger” will waft pleasantly through your home and/or boudoir.
But they’re for a good cause:Net proceeds from sales of the candle will go towards Autism Speaks, a nonprofit organization dedicated to autism research and awareness. As Consumerist points out, there’s nothing like a worthy charity to make a seemingly bizarre and nonsensical product immune to snark.
If you’re interested in the charitable, oniony burger-scented candles, they’re available at White Castle’s online store for $10.00 a pop.
