It is 100% true to say that I would probably care less about Wreck-It Ralph if it did not include the fake modern shooter game Hero’s Duty, and if Hero’s Duty did not include female space marine Sergeant Calhoun. I’m not saying I wouldn’t care about it. I’m just saying I’d care about it less if I couldn’t pretend that somebody had put FemShep in a movie and paid Jane Lynch to voice her.

I also note with satisfaction that Wreck-It Ralph knew perfectly well what they were doing when they decided to call it Hero’s Duty.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
