There’ve been a lot of jokes made about the box one since its reveal — but now that Don Mattrick has left the company and all of its most controversial policies have been reversed, some are starting to change their minds. For those in that party, Major Nelson put out an unboxing video that shows you what you’ll be getting if you buy the console at launch.
For those of you who aren’t interested in getting your news through a video, here’s the scoop: you’ll be getting an HDMI cable with 4K capability, a chat headset with upgraded speaker and mic, and the Kinect — which is sporting 1080p video and has a greater field of view that should allow it to work in almost any room, according to Nelson.
If you grab the Day One Edition, the package also comes with a code you can redeem for a digital exclusive. And it goes without saying that the controller — which has been given over 40 refinements since the 360, including a much improved D-Pad, thank goodness — comes in the box as well. You’ll also get an Xbox One sticker. That’s nice, right? Everybody loves stickers.
We’ve also got some more details about the hardware itself: It comes with a 500 GB hard drive, 8-core X86 processor, 3 “super speed” USB 3.0 ports, an IR blaster, a slot-loading Blu ray drive, and a Kensington security lock.
If you’re considering picking up the console up on the first day it’s available, then all of this should give you an idea of what to expect.
