Fans of Cartoon Network’s Young Justice were crushed when the show was cancelled along with Green Lantern: The Animated Series. While they’d prefer to see the show start back up or at the very least wrapped up with a mini-series or film, they’re getting a special treat soon in the form of a crossover.
The recent history of DC animated television projects has not been a great one. Most recently Beware the Batman was pulled under somewhat odd circumstances, but before that, Young Justice was cancelled after two (awesome) seasons. Fans even attempted a crowdfunding effort to bring it back from the dead.
But there’s good news today as Newsarama says it’s official – there will be a Young Justice/Teen Titans Go! crossover.
While [Warner Bros. Animation] couldn’t reveal too much just yet, we did get the official logline (description) of the episode, and it sounds like they’re directly addressing the considerable difference in tone between the two series.
“After being scolded by the superhero team from Young Justice for their silliness and hijinks, the Titans decide to get more serious about superheroing.”
Young Justice writers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti are not involved in the crossover, however, as Vietti mentioned on Twitter, but did ask fans to give it a try and assured them it would be fun.
So, Young Justice fans, what do you think? I know it’s no Season 3 but I think it will be cool.
